RSD - Process Technician I

Job Requirements:
•    Improves manufacturing and office processes by collecting current state data and information; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment and materials vendors; soliciting input from employees.
•    Develops and implements effective future state process while complying with product, regulatory, and customer requirements.
•    Develops and implements critical key metrics that are utilized to measure process performance and drive continuous improvement. Makes adjustments to continually optimize process performance.
•    Improves manufacturing safety, quality and performance by analyzing and improving ergonomics, workflow, tooling, space requirements, and equipment/office and shop layout.
•    Responsible for special tooling design, placement and performance.
•    Assures product and process quality by designing appropriate testing and sampling methods; testing in-process and finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards and confirming results.
•    Provides office and manufacturing decision-making information by calculating process, labor, and material cost; optimizing schedules and forecasting future requirements.
•    Converts the design engineering DBOM (Design Bill-of-Material) to create an effective MBOM (Manufacturing Bill-of-Material) that is aligned with manufacturing process to optimize process key performance metrics. The MBOM must include clear and concise work instructions and applicable drawings focused on safety, quality, and delivery of best in class fire apparatus.
•    Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
•    Provides manufacturing and office support answering questions and responding to data requests.
•    Maintains product and company reputation by complying with internal policies and external regulations.
•    Makes recommendations; submits expense and capital project requests with mandated financial ROI (Return on Investment) calculations. Once approved, ROI must be tracked and reported to ensure the calculated payback is realized.
•    Maintains product and process current and historical data in an appropriate electronic format that can be utilized by others for analysis.
•    Must maintain a positive disposition and interact with others in a positive professional team manner. Act as a knowledge base for others by sharing information and experience with all employees. Always be courteous, respectful, helpful and professional.
•    Continuously invests in professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications and establishing professional networks.
•    Accepts and fulfills other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing/production setting and experience in a project management, process improvement or similar manufacturing environment position or a combination of education experience required.
