Lyons, SD - August 31, 2009 - Tulare County Fire Department in California recently placed into service four Rosenbauer Custom Pumpers built with all-aluminum bodies.
Manufactured at Rosenbauer's Central Division in Lyons, SD, each pumper is equipped with a Hale single stage pump rated at 1,250 GPM, a PTO driven pump for pump-and-roll operation, a 750 gallon UPF poly water tank and a 20 gallon foam cell, which supplies a Class A foam system.
The Rosenbauer apparatus are built on the HME-1871 SFO chassis. The chassis were powered by Cummins ISL 345 HP engines with Allison 3000EVS transmissions. Each chassis was equipped with 18,740 lb. front axles and 24,000 lb. rear axles.
Other Rosenbauer pumper features include top mounted TFT Crossfire monitor with dual electric controls, an aluminum booster reel, an LED warning light package, aluminum diamond plate crosslay and hose bed covers, high side compartments on both sides of the apparatus, SCBA and wheel chock storage compartments in the wheel well area, adjustable shelving and slide-out trays, and slide-in ladder and pike pole storage between the water tank and passenger's side compartments.
The apparatus was sold by Rosenbauer dealer Bob Beck of Fire Trucks West, Inc. in Meridian, ID. In addition to the four Rosenbauer custom pumpers, the department also placed into service a 3000 gallon Rosenbauer water tender built on an International 7600 chassis.
